Join us for an interactive webinar that sheds light on the unique challenges and barriers faced by African American survivors of human trafficking. We’ll explore the intersection of domestic and sexual violence, providing insights into their experiences and vulnerabilities. Presenters will discuss the specific challenges African American survivors encounter, examine historical and socio-cultural factors contributing to marginalization of African Americans, and delve into effective communication strategies for fostering trust and validation. 

Learning objectives: 

As a result of this webinar, participants will be better able to: 

  1. Distinguish the unique challenges and barriers faced by African American survivors of human trafficking with domestic and sexual violence experiences. 
  2. Recognize the historical and socio-cultural factors that contribute to the vulnerability of African Americans to trafficking. 
  3. Identify effective communication strategies that foster trust and validate the experiences of African American survivors. 
  4. Explore strategies for collaborating with community resources and advocacy to provide culturally responsive support.
