These Guidelines are designed to assist jurisdictions considering whether to develop a domestic violence court or dedicated docket, to determine if such a court structure would be helpful, and if so, how best to model this structure to address the needs of their local communities. The Guidelines represent the views of a National Advisory
Committee comprised of leading representatives from the various disciplines involved in the processing of domestic violence cases throughout the system.
