Description:

The global population of older adults will more than double by the year 2050 and older people are continuing in or returning to the workforce for far longer than in previous generations. Older adults also volunteer for many philanthropic causes, including advocacy and support for survivors. The large numbers of older adults in the population require us to consider how we provide education and training on gender-based violence.

Judges, law enforcement officers, advocates, attorneys, and both system-oriented and community-based professionals working with survivors are likely to include older individuals. As we provide skill-based and content-oriented education to these learners, how should we tailor it to meet their learning needs? This webinar will discuss the importance of considering the learning needs of older adults who are engaging in education on gender-based violence and provide helpful tips and learning strategies that meet the needs of this audience.

Learning Objectives:

As a result of this webinar, you will be better able to:

– Discuss the importance of tailoring education on domestic and sexual violence, dating violence and/or stalking to older adult learners; and

-Identify effective learning strategies for older adults who are participating in education about domestic and sexual violence, dating violence and/or stalking.
