Thank you to everyone who joined FUTURES for our s Thank you to everyone who joined FUTURES for our standing-room only conversation: “Connected & Courageous” at last week’s Skoll World Forum in the UK.

We focused on how to advance connection, belonging, and the well-being of boys and young men – in conversation with leading philanthropists, corporate leaders, journalists, artists and advocates.

Our conversations included how personal narratives can spark empathy and challenge harmful norms around masculinity through storytelling from our Courage Museum. We also examined the urgent mental health crisis facing young men, and how initiatives like Team: Changing Minds are helping trusted adults show up with the tools to build trust and reduce isolation. And, we discussed the role of media and technology in shaping identity, and how digital spaces can either deepen harm or support healthier futures.

We are grateful to be in community with so many leaders committed to building a more connected and compassionate future.

Thanks especially to all of our speakers Pat Mitchell, Jake Barton, Rachael Smith Fals, Brian H. O’Connor, Manuelito Biag, Sasha Khokha, Sarah Haacke Byrd, Maggie Hureau, Mayele Jules Murhula, Jared Shurin, and Andrew Griffin!
We’ve all seen the recent heartbreaking stories of We’ve all seen the recent heartbreaking stories of domestic violence taking the lives of women and children across the country. Domestic violence is also a major driver of maternal mortality in the U.S., yet it is often overlooked. It doesn’t have to be this way, and this legislation can help change that!

The Protect Moms from Domestic Violence Act helps keep families safe by:
👉 Supporting research conducted by The National Academy of Medicine to examine how violence impacts maternal health outcomes, including morbidity, mortality, and intimate partner homicide.
👉 Investing in innovative approaches, including culturally relevant education campaigns, to improve maternal and child health outcomes for survivors of violence.
👉 Providing guidance on developing protocols and offering universal education on healthy relationships and intimate partner violence, while strengthening partnerships between health providers and community organizations.

We’re deeply grateful to Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Lisa Murkowski, and Representatives Gwen Moore and Brian Fitzpatrick for their leadership in protecting families from domestic violence.

☎️ Contact your representatives through the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and tell them to protect families by supporting this legislation!

This week is National Home Visiting Week, and we c This week is National Home Visiting Week, and we celebrate home visitors who support families across the United States, from those in the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Visiting funded programs delivering nearly a MILLION home visits each year to the broader home visiting field supporting families in communities nationwide! 💚

For FUTURES, supporting home visitors means:
👉 Recruiting more of them, especially in rural areas with limited health care access
👉 Offering them fair pay and professional development opportunities
👉 Providing them with the tools and training to promote relational health, including addressing trauma and adversity
👉 Promoting their wellness
