This week we are honoring Black Maternal Health We This week we are honoring Black Maternal Health Week! 💜

In the US, Black mothers and their infants continue to face disproportionately poor health outcomes related to childbirth. Black women are more than three times as likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than others, and according to the CDC, over 80% of these deaths are preventable.

The causes are many, from higher rates of domestic violence to limited access to prenatal and postpartum care. And, these gaps are multiplied in rural areas, where women experience nearly 2x the risk of maternal death than in urban communities.

@TIME Magazine recently spotlighted something many of us already know to be true, that mentorship can be a lifeline for boys who are pulling away from connection.

@bbbsamerica President & CEO Artis Stevens co-authored the piece, and it reflects something we see every day through Team: Changing Minds. When caring adults are equipped to recognize mental health challenges, young people feel seen, supported, and connected to help sooner. 💙
